The Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) is a national public organization, which has the duty to carry out, promote, circulate, transfer and enhance scientific and technological research activities in the main sectors of growth knowledge and of its applications for the scientific, technological, economic and social development of the country. It covers all scientific fields, with the exception of nuclear and particle physics covered by INFN. The CNR is under the supervision of Italian Ministry of University and Research.
